The Project at Element Materials Technology
Project Vision
This award-winning, Net Zero Carbon office that previously achieved BREEAM ‘Excellent’ rating, prioritises staff wellbeing and collaboration. Its vibrant, flexible design features natural light, open spaces and diverse meeting areas. A central work lounge offers various settings for staff and visitors, from casual coffee meetings and relaxation to private calls. Biophilic design, including a green wall, enhances the welcoming atmosphere and flexible seating accommodates everything from focused work to large gatherings.
Komfort’s Solution
The client’s vision was to achieve a high specification building for optimal occupant comfort. Working closely with Avison Young from the project outset, Komfort Partitioning supported the brief with our Polar 100 Double Glazed frameless partitioning system, achieving acoustic ratings of up to 53dB. Our partitioning was complemented by our Sonik rebated doors and Sonik Sliding doors, as well as tech panels for room booking systems and access control.
It was a pleasure to be involved in this people-centric project and collaborate with such forward-thinking designers.
From the Designer
Element Materials Technology and their design team approached the fit out of their new Global Business Service Office with user comfort and wellbeing at the heart of the design. From the project outset Komfort worked with the design team to develop the specifications for the glazed partitioning systems to suit the various functions in the office while complementing the palette of both the base build and the fit out.
