ALE Heavylift

The ALE Heavylift Project

Background
Founded in 1983, ALE is a privately-held company specialising in heavy transport and lifting, including transportation and installation of heavy items. Planned Office Interiors won the contract to refurbish ALE Heavylift’s offices and used glass partitioning supplied by Komfort.

The Building
ALE Heavylift recently relocated their company headquarters to Staffordshire Business Park with the vision of open plan offices.

The Brief in Brief
As a result of their renowned reputation within the interiors industry, Planned Office Interiors were contracted to create contemporary and exciting office spaces to align to ALE’s forward-thinking values and business ethos. Employee and guest comfort were a key consideration of the refurbishment. The full scope of work included a café, reception and meeting spaces.

The major re-fit of the newly designed space was to include curved walls and interesting lines, and steer away from the standard office plans of straight lines and more traditional interiors.

It was important to consider the high level of foot traffic and maintenance challenges ahead when making the decision on which flooring to use. CFS floor products were the perfect solution to accommodate these challenges and to sustain minimal upkeep.

Komfort’s Solution

To create the faceted Glazed screen that formed a 50p shaped curve that ALE wanted, Planned Office Interiors fitted Komfort’s Polar single glazed partitioning. Polar single glazed minimalist form is designed with the minimum of components, thus facilitated speed of erection without compromising structural stability and rigidity. The patented bubble joint ensured a virtually frameless system with no vertical posts between modules, corners or three-way junctions.

Komfort’s Komfire 75 was also installed by Planned Office Interiors for this project due to its distinct angular partitioning which incorporates both design and tremendous acoustic performance and fire performance. Komfire is a steel stud and plasterboard construction surrounded by an aluminium framework.

The end result
Global resource manager for ALE Heavylift praised Planned Office Interiors and said the refurbishment created “a head office that has impressed both our visitors and staff equally”
Planned Office Interiors completed this project to the highest standard and steered away from traditional commercial interiors to a more contemporary design. Planned Office Interiors have created inspiring offices for employees with the help of Komfort’s product offerings.
